This interactive installation, programmed in Processing, uses eye detection to playfully swap the eyes and mouths of people captured on a live video stream. The result is a shifting, surreal display of cubist, Picasso-like portraits projected onto a large screen in real time.
As visitors step in front of the camera, their facial features are fragmented and reassembled into strange and humorous new configurations. Pressing the space bar captures the image and instantly sends it to a connected printer, offering each participant a unique, take-home portrait. The more people gather, the more delightfully distorted the group portraits become.
