A Weekend in November is an attempt to encapsulate a moment suspended in time—the weekend following the terror attacks of November 13, 2015, in Paris, where 130 people were killed and 368 injured, and the bombings in Beirut on November 12, which claimed 43 lives and injured over 240.
This 360° sound piece – where sound travels around the listener – weaves together fragments of news reports, political speeches, ambient sounds from both cities, as well as spoken hashtags used in social media to express solidarity. The result is a spatial soundscape—an immersive acoustic collage that reflects on the emotional and political resonance of those days.
